Stuff we love: 3D type sculptures

Lettering artist Ben Jonston and industrial designer Mark Simmons wanted to create something that used both of their skills. The result was 3D-printed type sculptures. The process began with sketches, “which were refined, turned into vector files, then converted into 3D shapes in a CAD file, which was rendered and animated with a computer, and finally brought back to the physical world using a 3D printer.”

You can find out more about the process and see additional images on Behance.
