Make the dough for your pie crust and the filling. Sprinkle your surface with flour, then roll out the dough with a rolling pin until it’s about 1/8-inch thick.
Once your dough is rolled out, place your pie dish upside down and cut around it with a butter knife.
Flip the dish and the dough over and press the dough snugly into the pan.
Add the strawberry rhubarb filling.
Cut off any excess dough around the dish using a butter knife.
Using a fork, make imprints around the edge to press the pastry together. This will also give the crust a nice, finished edge.
Now it’s time to make the #pie type out of dough. Roll out some more dough again, but this time on a piece of wax or parchment paper. Place your template on top, and using a clean X-ACTO knife, cut around the letters, into the dough.
