For Fairgoods maker Benjamin Reynaert, the interest in bookmaking began in school. “I found myself making little books for myself and friends. Then I took a printmaking course, and bookmaking was a component. I was immediately smitten.”
In 2011, Benjamin launched a specialty studio and bindery producing hand-bound books, portfolios, and boxes. “It was born out of a desire to have a vessel for handwritten and hand-drawn ideas. I carry around a book to document my own thoughts and artistic endeavors, and I want something that is hand bound and texturally rich.”
All of Benjamin Reynaert’s books are individually made in his Brooklyn, New York, studio.
