Stuff we love: a light sculpture by Eddy Sykes

Eddy Sykes‘ chandelier “The 7th” was inspired by a plaster rosette in a Parisian apartment. And that’s exactly what it looks like — when it’s closed. Then it opens, revealing a spectacle of green and gold that both sunders and raises your expectations of what belongs on a ceiling.

“The green inner field reminds me of a kid in Provence at 4am, on a Vespa with no muffler, delivering coke to the hotel where Real Madrid is staying. But pieces like this have a way of taking on a life of their own.”
